For Reviewers

Peer review that respects your time and expertise

Reviewers are the backbone of scholarly publishing. We keep requests relevant, deadlines realistic, and recognition genuine.

What we ask of reviewers

  • Review only within your genuine area of expertise, and decline promptly when a manuscript falls outside it.
  • Complete reviews within the agreed window — normally 21 days, extendable on request.
  • Provide constructive, specific, evidence-based reports that help authors improve, whatever the recommendation.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality: manuscripts under review may not be shared, cited, or used.
  • Declare any conflict of interest and recuse yourself where objectivity could be questioned.
  • Do not upload manuscripts to public AI tools; any permitted AI assistance must follow our AI use policy and be disclosed to the editor.

How double-anonymous review works here

Authors submit anonymised manuscripts; reviewer identities are never disclosed to authors. Reviewers receive the anonymised file, structured review forms, and clear criteria: originality, rigour, significance, clarity, and ethical soundness. Recommendations are advisory — the handling editor weighs all reports and takes responsibility for the decision.

Recognition

  • Annual reviewer acknowledgement published by each journal (with your consent).
  • Formal reviewer certificates for completed reviews.
  • Review activity recordable on your ORCID profile once our ORCID integration is active (see status).
  • Outstanding reviewers are prioritised for editorial board appointments.

Become a reviewer

We are building the founding reviewer pools for our launch journals. To apply, email editorial@abiedu.com with subject line "Reviewer application" and include:

  • Your name, institutional affiliation, and ORCID iD
  • Your areas of expertise (keywords)
  • A link to your publication record (Google Scholar, Scopus, or institutional profile)
  • The journal(s) you wish to review for

We verify every reviewer's identity and publication record before adding them to the pool — this protects authors and the integrity of our review process. Once OJS is live, reviewer registration will also be available directly on each journal's site.
