For Authors

Publish your research with confidence

Clear guidelines, honest timelines, rigorous review, and support at every step — from first enquiry to post-publication.

The publication process

  1. Prepare your manuscript

Follow the author guidelines of your target journal — formatting, word limits, referencing style, and required statements (ethics, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, AI use).

  2. Submit online

Register on our Open Journal Systems platform and submit through the journal's submission portal. You will be asked for your ORCID iD, all co-author details, and an anonymised manuscript file for review.

  3. Editorial screening

The editorial office checks scope fit, formatting, and similarity (plagiarism screening). Desk decisions are normally communicated within 2 weeks of submission.

  4. Double-anonymous peer review

At least two independent expert reviewers assess your work. Neither authors nor reviewers know each other's identities. We target a first decision within 8–10 weeks; as a new press we will publish our actual average times once reliable data exist, rather than advertising invented ones.

  5. Revision and decision

Decisions are accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject — always with substantive reviewer reports. Revised manuscripts are re-assessed by the handling editor and, where needed, the original reviewers.

  6. Copyediting, proofreading, and production

Accepted manuscripts are copyedited, typeset, and returned to you for proof approval before publication.

  7. Publication and beyond

Articles publish continuously with full metadata and a DOI (once Crossref registration is active, as disclosed in our transparency statement). You retain copyright and may share your work freely under its Creative Commons licence.

Core author guidelines

  • Originality: submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Preprints are permitted and must be disclosed.
  • Authorship: all listed authors must meet contributorship criteria (substantial contribution, drafting or revision, approval, accountability). Changes to authorship after submission require the written agreement of all authors.
  • Ethics approvals: research involving human participants or animals must include ethics committee approval details and, for human subjects, informed consent statements.
  • Data availability: a data availability statement is required in every article; deposit in a recognised repository is encouraged.
  • AI disclosure: any use of generative AI tools in the research or the preparation of the manuscript must be disclosed in the methods or acknowledgements. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. See the AI use policy.
  • Conflicts of interest: all financial and non-financial interests must be declared.
  • References: APA 7th edition unless a journal specifies otherwise; DOIs included wherever available.

Article processing charges and waivers

Our journals are funded through modest article processing charges (APCs) payable only after acceptance. There are no submission fees and no charges for rejected manuscripts.

ItemDetail
Submission feeNone — ever.
APC (JAISB, launch period)[Publisher action required: confirm the exact APC amount and any launch discount before go-live. The amount must be stated here and on the journal page — DOAJ requires it.]
WaiversFull or partial waivers for authors from low- and lower-middle-income economies (World Bank classification) and in cases of demonstrated hardship. Waiver requests are handled by staff who are not involved in editorial decisions, and editors are blinded to APC status.
What the APC coversEditorial management, peer-review administration, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, preservation, and platform costs.

Copyright and licensing

Authors retain copyright in their work. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY 4.0) unless a journal states otherwise, allowing unrestricted reuse with proper attribution. You may deposit any version of your article in repositories, on your website, or with your funder — no embargo, no permission needed.

Author support

Pre-submission enquiries are welcome — if you are unsure whether your work fits a journal's scope, send an abstract to editorial@abiedu.com and we will respond within five working days. Technical problems with the submission system: support@abiedu.com.

Before you submit: we encourage every author to read our publication ethics policies and to verify our current service statuses in the transparency statement. Choosing a journal is an act of trust; we want yours to be well-informed.
