Publisher overview

ABIEdu Academic Press publishes international, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly journals across business, technology, education, sustainability, healthcare, public policy, and interdisciplinary studies. The Press operates journals.abiedu.com on Open Journal Systems (OJS), the open-source publishing platform developed by the Public Knowledge Project and used by thousands of scholarly journals worldwide.

The Press is commonly referred to as ABIEdu Journals or ABIEdu Press, and it is the publishing division of ABIEdu — the academic business intelligence and learning platform at abiedu.com, operated by Alphabets Business Innovation Ltd. Manuscript submission and peer review are handled on our dedicated portal at submissions.abiedu.com.

We are a young press, and we say so plainly. Rather than borrowing credibility through vague claims, we earn it through published policies, verifiable practices, and honest status reporting — the same standards we would want as authors ourselves.

Governance structure

The Press separates commercial management from editorial decision-making by design:

Publisher (ABIEdu Academic Press management) — responsible for infrastructure, finances, legal compliance, journal portfolio strategy, and staff. The publisher does not take part in acceptance or rejection decisions on individual manuscripts.
Editors-in-Chief and editorial boards — hold full and final authority over the scholarly content of their journals, including peer review, acceptance, and rejection.
Publishing Ethics function — handles integrity concerns, appeals, and complaints through info@abiedu.com, following COPE-aligned procedures. Where a concern involves the publisher itself, it is escalated to independent academic advisers.

An international Advisory Board of senior academics is being constituted to oversee publishing standards across the portfolio; its membership will be published here once confirmed. We do not list names before individuals have formally accepted their roles in writing.

Editorial independence statement

Editorial decisions at ABIEdu Academic Press journals are made by academic editors on scholarly grounds alone. No author-facing charge applies during the launch period, and should one be introduced, payment or waiver would have no bearing whatsoever on editorial outcomes — editors are, and will remain, blinded to fee status during review.

Disclosure of a publisher-affiliated editor. Dr. Sriram Ananthan is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Business and is also a Director of Alphabets Business Innovation Ltd, the publisher. We disclose this openly rather than obscure it. The following safeguards apply and are binding:

He recuses himself entirely from any submission he has authored or co-authored, or in which he holds a financial, personal, or institutional competing interest. Such manuscripts are assigned to a designated member of the editorial board who holds no affiliation with the publisher; that editor takes the decision independently, and Dr. Ananthan has no visibility of the review or the decision.
Commercial considerations — including any future fee status, institutional relationships, or the publisher's revenue — play no part in any editorial decision, and no member of the publisher's management outside the editorial roles described here may influence or overturn a decision on an individual submission.
Every article records the handling editor, so readers can see who took the decision on any given paper.

Where a journal has no publisher-affiliated editor, the publisher — including ABIEdu's ownership and management — has no role in, and no right to overturn, editorial decisions on individual submissions.

Legal ownership and relationship with ABIEdu

ABIEdu Academic Press is the scholarly publishing division of ABIEdu (abiedu.com). ABIEdu and its divisions are owned and operated by Alphabets Business Innovation Ltd, the parent company of a family of education and innovation ventures. Within this structure, ABIEdu Academic Press operates with full editorial independence: the parent company provides infrastructure and administration but holds no role in editorial decisions.

Publishing leadership

The founding publishing team is listed with full names, affiliations, and roles once appointments are formalised. Editorial leadership for each journal appears on that journal's editorial board page. We deliberately do not display unconfirmed names or stock-photo profiles.

Publisher responsibilities

Maintaining the publishing platform, security, and digital preservation arrangements.
Registering ISSNs, DOIs, and depositing complete, accurate metadata.
Safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record, including corrections and retractions.
Providing editors and reviewers with training, documentation, and support.
Ensuring long-term access to published content, including in the event of journal discontinuation.

History and future direction

ABIEdu Academic Press was established in 2026 as the natural extension of ABIEdu's educational mission. Our first title, the Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Business, opens its inaugural call for papers at launch. Over the coming years we plan a small, carefully governed portfolio — we will add journals only when we can resource their editorial quality properly, and we will pursue indexing in DOAJ, Google Scholar, Crossref, OpenAlex, Dimensions, Scopus, and Web of Science step by step, in that realistic order, reporting progress openly.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion

We actively seek editorial board members, reviewers, and authors from underrepresented regions, institutions, and groups. Our journals welcome research from and about the Global South, and our waiver policy ensures that inability to pay never prevents publication of sound research. We monitor and will report the geographic and gender diversity of our boards.

Sustainability commitment

As a digital-first press we minimise our environmental footprint: no print runs, green hosting where available, and remote-first operations. Editorially, sustainable development is a core theme across our portfolio, reflecting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The table below is updated whenever a status changes. We distinguish clearly between planned, in progress, and active. We will never display an indexing badge, membership logo, or metric that we cannot verify.
